Pitbull's New Year Revolution
The place to be for New Year's Eve in Miami was Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution and PBTV was happy to join, providing our client Lock & Key Productions with LED screens, LightSlice and LED flooring for the show.
The PBTV crew worked closely with Production Designer Anne Brahic of lucki designs, inc. and Screens Producer Laura Frank from Luminous FX to create a visually stunning set that used creative LED products, including three digiLED DLP 5.9mm LED Floor Systems positioned at right angles to the audience, 170 meters of digiLED LightSlice that lined the stage and the edges of two wing walls, enough digiLED MK7 7mm resolution panels to make the two 32’ x 20’ video wing walls and a 60’ x 30’ upstage video wall and digiLED Mirage MC15 Transparent 15mm LED Modules to create the two massive “hourglass” set pieces that framed the stage. Brahic’s dynamic video-driven design engaged both the revelers at Bayfront Park and the FOX broadcast audience.
“Pete’s is always one of my go to vendors. They are always ready to roll up their sleeves with me and figure out what the best gear type is for each application,” comments Brahic. “The new 5.9mm floor system was great. They come with their own legging system which allowed us to install them without headaches and they support the weight of people walking on them, which was essential too. They looked great in all our overhead shots. The LightSlice product was also a great discovery for me. The 2-pixel wide linear application was perfect for lining all the edges of our stage and runways. The way they the clip on to brackets via a magnetic attachment point made the install super-efficient.”
Frank adds, “The Pete’s team were very responsive in pre-production and well prepared on site. We had challenging working conditions outdoors in the heat, but everyone was committed to putting together an excellent show and the screens looked great and worked well. The LightSlices and Floor products we’re very effective accents in Anne’s set.”
