NFL Kickoff Concert
PBTV helped kickoff the 2018 NFL season by supporting the 2018 NFL Kickoff Driven by Hyundai concert that was held at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, PA. featuring mulit-platnium singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes. PBTV supplied four column screens consisting of digiLED DLPo5.9 5.9mm LED modules and two side screens of DLPo5.9, all with Novastar processing. NHL Awards
The 2018 NHL Awards presented by Hulu were held at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and broadcast live on NBC Sports and Sportsnet. PBTV provided a number of LED screens and creative LED products for the show including a main screen and trophy screen of digiLED 5.9mmLED modules; plus stage left and right were digiLED MK7mm modules. NBA 2K League
The NBA 2K League, a joint venture between the NBA and Take-Two Interactive, is a professional sports league with games live streamed on Twitch.TV For the tournament PBTV worked with production designer, Patrick Fahey and design firm 8 Hands High providing four 3.2mm iMAG-R 3.2 LED screens. Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards
For the March 24th broadcast of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2018, PBTV built a massive 41'h x 95'w blimp-shaped screen out of 943 digiLED DLPo 5.9mm LED modules as the main centerpiece of the imaginative set. The large PBTV LED package also included 300+ digiLED DLPo5.9mm LED modules for six LED video carts; 200+ digiLED Mirage MC15 Transparent 15mm LED Modules for transparent blow-through video; and 200+ digiLED DLPo5.9mm LED modules, along with 750 digiLED DLP adjustable curving brackets, curved screens which wrapped the mainstage. TRL on MTV
For the re-launch of MTV’s Total Request Live program, best known as TRL, Pete’ Big TVs was onsite providing a massive high-resolution, curved LED video wall, an 5.9mm LED floor, and a variety of smaller LED screens. The high-resolution screens are part of the studio environment designed by Production Designer Dave Edwards for the NYC Times Square-based show. Edwards, Principal of the design firm, D Before E, Inc. was assisted by Art Directors Rebecca Lord-Surratt and Andy Broomell. Read more about what PBTV supplied for this project here.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
For the March 18th episode of HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, PBTV provided digiLED DLP 3.9mm LED walls for a sketch promoting the new book A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo. Two 12’ h x 12’w LED walls were positioned at right angles to each other, resembling a partially open book. Oliver, stood in front of the walls during the sketch while artwork from the book was played on the screens. Learn more here about this project.
Lip Sync Battle: A Michael Jackson Celebration
For the live broadcast of the one hour special Lip Sync Battle: A Michael Jackson Celebration, PBTV provided a large LED package including digiLED DLP 3.9mm, DLP 5.9mm, and Lightslice. House left and right backing walls were each 11’h x 23’w, the center screen was 24’h x 60’w, and there were six legs each 22.5’h x 6.5’w. Learn more here about this project.
SNL Season Finale
For NBC’s Saturday Night Live season’s finale, PBTV was on hand to provide the PBTV LED floor, consisting of digiLED DLPo5.9 modules for both performances by musical guest Katy Perry.
Then in a Jurassic Park themed water ride sketch with guest host Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, PBTV provided a curved LED wall of 189 digiLED DLPo5.9 modules which surrounded the scenic elements of the ride car and the loading dock. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2017 Induction Ceremony
Pete’s Big TVs has been providing video solutions for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony every year since 1989. This year’s show, the 32nd annual ceremony, was held at The Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY and featured a production design from Bruce Rodgers of Tribe, Inc. and a lighting design from longtime RRHOF LD, Allen Branton. PBTV supplied a large 38’Wx24’H LED video screen consisting of the digiLED Mirage MC7mm blow through LED video modules as well as digiLED iMAG-R 3.2 LED video modules for the video screens behind the presenters/honorees lecterns. 66th MISS UNIVERSE® Competition
The 66th Miss Universe pageant was held at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV and live broadcast on the Fox network. PBTV provided nearly 1000 panels of digiLED MK7 for six LED walls, each 30’ high and widths ranging from 8’ to 20’. The walls were positioned in pairs at upstage center, midstage and downstage. PBTV also provided crew for the event.

STEVE
Steve Harvey premiered the new version of his talk show, Steve, that moved from Chicago to Los Angeles. The concept behind the new set was to bring a late-night feel to daytime. PBTV provided a 20’ wide x 11.5’ high digiLED iMAG-R 3.2 high resolution LED screen for the set. Learn more about this project here.
2017 CMT Music Awards
The star-studded 2017 edition of the CMT Music Awards aired on CMT on June 7 and PBTV was in Nashville to support Anne Brahic’s impressive production design and Screens Producer Laura Frank’s eye-catching work with low-resolution LED products. PBTV supplied 80 panels of Viss Display’s SE55 55mm LED Curtain product in its first production usage as well as nearly 600 tiles of GTek 37mm LED video modules. Miss USA 2017
The 2017 edition of the MISS USA® pageant was held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and broadcast live on FOX. The Pete’s Big TVs team provided video solutions for the televised pageant to support the vision of production designer Joe Stewart of the design firm Shaffner/Stewart. The set’s seven 32-foot high massive LED screens were built with more than 1,200 digiLED MK 7mm LED video modules. PBTVs ensured that all 1,200 video moduels were matched for a flawless image. 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards
MTV changed up the game with the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards as this was MTV's first ever production honoring both movies & TV. The awards show, located in the venerable Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, featured a production design by David Edwards, Jr. of D Before E, Inc. along with art direction by Anthony Bishop of AWB Design, LLC. While it’s PBTVs first time working on an MTV movie awards show, we have worked with Bishop on a number of projects. The LED video screens for the MTV Movie & TV Awards were a combination of digiLED’s DLPi 3.9 and DLPo 5.9 products. Learn more about this project and see the screens in action here.
Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution
Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution was the place to be for New Year's Eve in Miami and PBTV was happy to join our client Lock & Key Productions to provide Production Designer Anne Brahic of lucki designs, inc. and Screens Producer Laura Frank from Luminous FX creative LED products, including three digiLED DLP 5.9mm LED Floor Systems, 170 meters of digiLED LightSlice, as well as digiLED MK7 7mm resolution panels and digiLED Mirage MC15 Transparent 15mm LED Modules to create a visually stunning set that was a dynamic video-driven design which engaged both the revelers at Bayfront Park and the FOX broadcast audience. 65th MISS UNIVERSE® Competition
PBTV went to the Philippines to support the 65th MISS UNIVERSE® Competition at the Mall of Asia Arena. Telecast live on the Fox network, the contestants came from over 85 countries. PBTV provided a 5.9m LED floor and over 1000 panels of 5.9m for seven 30’ high LED screens, one upstage center and an upstage, midstage and downstage pair. PBTV also provided crew for the event.
Black Girls Rock
Pete’s Big TVs was proud to support Production Designer Anne Brahic, principal of Lucki Designs, Inc. and Screens Producer Laura Frank, principal of Luminous FX, on BET’s broadcast of BLACK GIRLS ROCK taped at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.
The event, hosted by Tracie Ellis Ross, included appearances by Lauryn Hill, Rihanna, Brandy, Shonda Rhimes, and a special appearance by Hillary Clinton. Brahic created a sculptural scenic design using LED video products and projection screens. Pete’s Big TVs provided 522 digiLED MC15 LED video tiles for the scenic portals and frames; 236 digiLED MK7 LED video tiles for the presenter screens and entrance screens, and a projection screen at the top of the set. Hip Hop Awards
The BET Network’s 2015 Hip Hop Awards celebrated the biggest names in the genre, including performers, music producers and video directors. Pete’s Big TVs provided various visual products to enhance the set including digiLED CS5, a 5mm resolution screen for the downstage left and right presenter/host backing screens. digiLED MK7 tiles were used for the large center screen and the DJ riser. For IMAG, two Barco FLM HD18 projectors and one 16 ft wide x 9 ft high screen were supplied.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction
Pete’s Big TVs has been there every year since 1989 for rock’s biggest night: the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
The induction took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. A large digiLED MC15 semi-transparent LED screen onstage offered archival content for the different artists. Smaller, high resolution Absen A3 screens were positioned behind the two podiums. These screens were wrapped in RP (rear projection) material so that content would look less digitized on camera closeups.
Bobby Jones
BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel show is one of cable TV’s longest running original series. Grammy-winning Dr. Bobby Jones, Jr., the “Ambassador of Gospel”, and his team recently tape each season of ministry and praise in the summer at BET’s Washington, DC studios. Pete’s Big TVs provided the set’s video projection elements. One large backdrop screen of 250 digiLED MK7 LED tiles provided a projection surface 16 ft high by 41 ft wide. The screen displays graphics, I-mag and other visual elements to add glory to the choirs, evangelists and popular performers onstage.
Celebrity Apprentice
Primetime Emmy Awards
Pete’s Big TVs provided video support for the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards with host Seth Meyers. The high profile event, held annually by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, was broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.
PBTV provided nearly 500 digiLED CS5 5mm LED tiles, two Barco HD-W26 projectors (double-stacked at the FOH) and crew to fulfill the set requirements from Production Designer Keith Raywood. The 500 CS5 tiles were fashioned into five screens in the set. Two tracking screens mid-stage left and right measured 20 ft high by 11 ft wide. Two “tower” screens at the proscenium were each 14 ft wide by 23.5 ft high. The fifth screen was a small curved screen on a circular, elevated set piece, 12.6 ft wide by 6 ft high. Guys Choice Awards
Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards brought together popular film and sports stars to honor “Guy” things in a fun, comedic way. Pete’s Big TVs provided the main screen made up of CS5 LED panels, 20 ft wide x 12.6 ft high as well as 12 ft x 18 ft keyhole screens using digiLED MK7 LED tiles. There were also two curved walls of digiLED MC15, one 16.5 ft high x 44 ft wide and one 16.5 ft high x 26 ft wide.
Fashion Rocks
Fashion Rocks Live, a star-studded, two-hour celebration of music and fashion was broadcast live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
PBTV provided over 2,000 LED tiles to wrap the geometric-looking set, designed by Anne Brahic and constructed by Atomic Design. There were 200 x CS5 (5 mm) LED tiles, 700 x digiLED MC7 (7mm), 800 x digiLED MC15 (15mm) and 500 Barco MiStrips to create a fast-paced video fortress for the performers. Million Second Quiz
Night of Too Many Stars
For the third time, Pete’s Big TVs supplied equipment and crew for Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs. The design included ten digiLED MK7 7mm scenic screens of varying sizes. A 14’ wide x 8’ high screen - set inside a gilded picture frame and hanging center stage - was comprised of 5mm resolution tiles.
Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Louis C.K., Larry David, Martin Short, Chris Rock, Seth Meyers, “Weird Al” Yancovic, Jon Bon Jovi and too many more stars to mention helped for the cause.
Penn & Teller: Fool Us
Aspiring magicians are invited onstage to compete in the CW Network series, Penn & Teller: Fool Us taped in the Penn & Teller Theatre at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Production designer Anton Goss, creative director at Los Angeles-based Consortium Studios, created the LED-centric set for this show with art director Dylan Jones. Pete’s Big TVs supplied 258 digiLED MK7 panels. Of those, 162 panels make a 30 foot x 15 foot upstage screen that opens and closes for entrances. The other LED panels are used as a low, 3 foot tall ‘wrap around screen’ that wrap the stage. Forty Viss Soft i80 80mm LED curtain panels are used, each panel is 2 feet wide by 16 foot tall. There are four Barco FLM HD18 projectors for IMAG screens. Video content included the IMAG and imagery related to each act.
